Rough Cut 5

Here is the latest rough cut for my music video.

In this version the editing has been tightened and there is a little more content and more shots throughout. Enjoy!

Until next time,

  1. The opening section is a lot tighter. Seems a little odd that you go from dissolves to cuts when you do; not sure this is effective. I still think the dissolves are a little short.
The pan at 0:53 starts a little too early (you catch the moment before you start the movement - could do with being a little later).
The pace of the editing needs to increase at about 01:05, when the rhythm steps up; you are a little late with this (kind of needs to be when they are playing pooh sticks).
It may be just me (or the render, or the playback) but quite a few of the edits seem to be off the beat (for example, the kitchen shots, the ruins at about 01:45). Just incrementally, but it's noticeable.
Some of the shots are held for too long (for example, around 02:50 on the beach), particularly when the beat comes back in.
It occurred to me - and I don't know whether this is possible - that at the end, when you do the photo thing, it would be really good to have a montage of shots of your parents from children to the age they are now, if you have access to the photos.
Overall, it's improving - still L3, but upper end. Main issue is the editing still needs tightening up.
